This summer was my 3rd annual visit to Chicago- to visit friends, and then while there to do a few mini sessions of friends and friends of my friends! It’s really become a lot of fun, and I love seeing so many of the same families each year. Especially when there are new siblings from the year before!

I have had the pleasure of photographing spunky Miss Madeline a few times now. I always look forward to our sessions as she’s SUCH a hoot! She always makes me smile with her energy and beautiful blue eyes. They came down to the studio for their session, and it was a blast!

Madeline’s mom and I have the same due date! And the irony- is that we have the exact same name picked out if they are both girls! They know they are having a girl- as for me, well I’m not telling

I was totally shocked we had the same name AND due date (as were they)- I guess great minds think alike!

Meet Rylan & Elsie- two insanely CUTE 17m old twins who I had the pleasure of photographing last week. My blog readers know, that I have a special love for toddlers- and these two renewed all those feelings! Why do I love toddlers so? For all the reasons they are exhausting! You can’t get them to do what you want, they have their own agenda- but when they are happy and joyful it is SO real, and the same for the quiet tender moments…that take my breath away. There is nothing more honest, than the emotions of a toddler. Which is what makes them SO much fun to photograph (and yes, harder too- but I love a challenge!)

……AND FREEZE! (oh how this one cracks me up!!)

Elsie is a little more on the cautious side, but the bubbles helped

Rylan was pretty much good to go from the minute he arrived:
