Hard to believe they are SEVEN!!!
They wanted a “monster” theme for their birthday- so I made them some t-shirts to match their invites, and the fabulous baker at Lunds decorated a cake to match. I love Lunds! The kids picked monsters to represent them and I think they are VERY fitting

Hard to believe that this was them 7yrs ago!

Sniff, sniff, sniff……..time flies that’s for sure!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to them!!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted pics of my kids- mostly because, well, as my fellow photogs know my kids, like most of their kids, suffer from PKS- aka Photographers Kids Syndrome. Which basically means that while I can photograph other people’s children- my own are next to impossible. Most of the time they run away, or make really really annoyed facial expressions. It’s painful really. Occasionally they will humor me- usually if I say “I need to take a picture to send to grandma!”
ANYHOO- today at the kids’ school it was “Super Hero Day” so they could dress up. My lovely children chose to go as their super selves. Which I just LOVE. They’ve had these capes since they were 3yrs old- Grandma G made them for them and they are a staple of their dress-up play. The kids chose their own outfits today- complete from head to toe- can I just say I love my kids

When you live in MN- you really have to embrace the weather- and I think kids can do this better than anyone. Fresh snow, even in really cold temps, just begs to be played in! After school the kids and their friends A&J had a blast playing outside.
J about to throw a snowball at our dog. Who LOVES this.

The Girl and A sledding to the bottom of the hill.

I really need to get him “real” snowboarding….he loves it so much. (Ahem SCOTTY)

King of the mountain…

I think keeping your tongue out is a requirement when it’s snowing…

Mmmm…..I know some people say you shouldn’t let kids eat snow. But I say BALONEY to that.

A few of the beast. He just came back from the groomer so is looking extra lovely. PLUS he’s lost 11lbs since a year ago! He’s on diet dog food in hopes that being skinny will help with his knee and hip issues. He’s still got about 5 to go to be “svelt”
I know it’s hard to tell w/all that fur….

The kids went sledding with their 3 cousins on Saturday, on the “famous Chaska sledding hill” – they had a TON of fun racing down that hill and only ran over a few innocent bystanders….

He’s only been in our house for two days, but it’s been a HOOT so far!! Now he’s not the “official” little guy- I headed to The General Store in Minnetonka (which if you’ve never been to and live in the Twin Cities you really should check it out- esp during the holiday- it’s awesome) intending to buy the offical little guy- but instead found this one- who’s really an ornament, but he was only $7 (compared to the real elf w/book for $30) He’s about 10″ tall and totally poseable- PERFECT! Plus I think he’s much cuter than the other one.
For those not familiar with the story- basically Santa send a scout elf, to hang out in the house and keep on eye on the kids to see if they are being “naughty or nice” and then every night- once they are asleep he returns to the North Pole to give Santa a report. Then the next morning he’s back- BUT in a totally different spot. So it’s a fun little hide-n-seek game. We told the kids that one of the rules from Santa is that they can’t touch the elf
It’s been a hoot so far- they randomly talk to him- tell him things and even fess up to things to him. They also think he’s really cute and want to know what he eats, what his name is, etc…. only grown ups can hear him, so Mark and I can report what he’s saying
So if you have any good elf names- let me know!

Why does Captain America look so sad?
Because Super-Dog just rifled through his back-pack and ate all his halloween treats from their school party….
Bad- Super-Dog- Bad!
C.A. (i.e. Boy #2) recovered quickly and has forgiven Super-Dog- as he even offered him some candy when they all got home from trick or treating.
Hope all your wee ones had a fun Halloween!
