What a FUN day!! Thanks to everyone who came out to help break in the new studio We raised almost $600 for the Susan G Komen Foundation! YAY! A few peeks from the day…

Sweet Miss Madeline- always happy to be photographed! We had so much fun at her 1yr session this fall, I knew she’d be a hoot!

Miss Abby is the niece of one of my closest friends, Lynda. She looks so much like her mom and auntie!  Abby is a little shy, but a total sweetheart and to date the easiest 2yr old I’ve ever had to photograph

It was fun to see how much he’s grown since his newborn session! Austin is going to be a BIG boy- he’s already so tall!

I haven’t seen this smiling face since her 1yr old session, and she has changed so much! Definitely two years old- a favorite age of mine

LuaClaire is going to keep her mom on her toes!! Only 7m old and already crawling! She has the same sweet little face she did as a newborn.

The trio. These triplets are a little younger than my own, but remind me SO much of my crew….it’s good to know mine aren’t the only bunch around that act like this- LOVE it!!  I had to put together a little collage of some of my favorite funny captures

Sweet baby J made an early arrival to the world, deciding to arrive almost 3months early. He’s now finally home, and had his session on his actual due date! He was as sweet as can be, SUCH a good little model for me. Doesn’t he have the most amazing eyes and eyelashes? I just can’t stop smiling!

I love photographing babies with their parents- and often do a lot of mom+baby portraits. Dad’s are typically much more camera shy. When A’s mom told me she really wanted some skin-on-skin shots of their baby boy with his dad I was SO excited!! I love doing these type of images, as not nearly enough dad’s are willing! So he is going to be a little heavily favored in this blog post in hopes it entices more dad’s to go shirtless in their sessions!

I love photographing babe’s in arms as it’s a great way to show in scale how small they were!

Mom had ordered this cute little bear hat on Etsy, and it was scheduled to arrive the day of the session- so she kept stalking the mailbox and sure enough towards the end of the session at just the perfect time it arrived!

It’s been 6months since I’ve seen Mr. *C* and oh how much he’s grown!!! At his newborn session (seen here) he was so tiny and new with lots of dark hair. Now he’s a mellow little guy who’s seems to be always content! 6months is one of my favorite stages to photograph- they can sit so proudly and have that perfect little cherub face

What a fun fun FUN session! It was a double session, combining both a newborn photoshoot and her twin sisters 3yr old photos. 3 beautiful girls- shy but sweet as can be

First up- the big sisters! When mom told me how they love to fly around the yard with their fairy wings- I thought what a GREAT idea to use them in the photosession!

These two boys were sweet as can be and just sooooo adorable!!!
It was my longest newborn session ever- but I enjoyed every minute

When LC’s mom called me to tell me the news of her arrival- she told me how ALL the nurses in the hospital were oooing and ahhhing over her insanely cute new baby girl and I couldn’t wait to meet her and sure enough- she’s just the cutest little thing!

We used this scarf at her maternity session- so it was fun to use it at the newborn session also!

This one makes me chuckle- she’s ready to rumble

Little Miss *L* came to visit all the way from Ottawa Canada! In town for her auntie’s college graduation, I had the pleasure of a photoshoot on a sunny morning at the U of MN. It’s been awhile since I’ve been there and I always love it- for one it’s a great location for a session, and for two, as a alum myself I love to visit

5 months old and so expressive! She was a real trooper- it was a crazy windy morning, most adults were shivering, but her mom+dad did a great job of keeping her warm and happy

Sometimes my life as a photographer is just extra easy……meet 6 month old baby J – who not only is the CUTEST thing- with that perfect little punkin head and big blue eyes- but also has a home that is a photographers dream. Every single room in their home has the most amazing natural light!! My fellow photogs know what I mean when I say my heart skipped as I walked around their home

Okay- back to the sweet little miss. 6 months is one of my favorite ages/stages to photograph. They just have that “Gerber Baby” look to them that could make anyone’s heart melt.

Remember this lovely belly from the other week?

Well the very next day after that photo was taken- baby *I* was welcomed into this world! He didn’t waste any time after the maternity photo session. Here he is now at 7days of age. I thought it would be fun to do a shot in the same spot

Sometimes- when I’m out shopping I see something that I think would be good for a photo session- a few days after this little guy’s maternity session- I was at Target and saw this blanket- and realized it PERFECTLY matched the little-one-to-be’s awaiting nursery- so just had to buy it since I knew a newborn session was coming soon. His mom pulled out this little hat that a friend had made and sent her:

I just cannot get over her perfect little lips and those looooog lashes!! Isn’t she just beautiful! At 7wks Miss N was the perfect pumpkin, happy as could be, or sleeping soundly!

And yes I am biased….but I also believe it to be true. Meet Isabel.
Isabelle belongs to one of my FAVORITE people in the whole wide world- my friend, and former college “roomie”- Jane. I have known Janer since we were stupid freshman at the U, and I honestly feel so lucky, to be able to still call her my friend almost 19yrs later. Since Jane married her sweetheart, she’s lived all over the country with him, usually on a coast somewhere- but now has come back to the midwest and is only 4.5hrs away. YAY! Now if only they could get a little bit closer….come on you two- you know you want to live in the Cities again!!

Okay- on to the pure perfection that is sweet baby Isabelle. 2wks old and honestly she was a true rock star. I could NOT have asked for a better little client!

I want to blow this up and hang it in my house. It makes me heart so happy:

I tried about 10times to get this shot- as she did not like to be curled up- but finally she gave in to my charms….

I love you Janer!! I’m so happy for you and John. Your baby girl is just beautiful- but what truly makes my heart just swell is seeing you all together and how perfectly she completes your family
