This might be my quickest sneak peek ever! This session was this morning- despite the wicked snowstorm. Now part of the reason of course for the early peek is that I knew the photos were going to be great and I wanted to get a peek at them right away, but also, ahem, it’s because it’s the 1st session with my brand new camera. Now, as my super blog followers know- I named my last camera after the 1st session I did with it- so “Addison” has now been retired to back-up duties…..and I’ll have to decide whether the new one gets the nickname, E, of this sweetie, or perhaps her full name, which starts with a G…:)
Okay- back to the super duper cutie-patootie! Only 5days old, but sweet baby E was a super trooper! She is the most alert 5day old I’ve ever met! She didn’t want to miss a minute of what was going on- but was so content and happy, and showing off her gorgeous eyes. We tried our hardest to get her to sleep- but she just didn’t want any part of it! Amazingly- during her brief 5min snooze I worked fast and did get some great keepers
1st up….okay this one is definitely in the top 3 of my all-time favorite newborn photos. I LOVE it!

Aren’t her eyes just beautiful!!

This is one makes me miss my own babies….

All curled up and briefly asleep

I just love her hands in this one…

S&B thanks for having me over today to photograph your sweet newborn pea- she really is just a perfect little thing! And S’s dad- thanks for assisting with the schlepping of the stuff through the snow! Drive safely back to Michigan!

One month old and sweet as can be! Little baby *A* was a super trooper- the only thing we couldn’t get her to do- was sleep!
But she was a happy, pleasant little camper who was unbelievably mellow and soooooo adorable

Baby *H* has 3 older sisters who are so excited he’s here- and are so adoring to him, and want to attend to his every need. Mom sure has her hands full with girls who are 6y, 4y and 2y but what a lovely bunch they all are- and Mr. H sure rounds them out nicely
Mr. H defied my standard newborn norms- as most newborns less than a week old sleep pretty much the whole time I’m there- but not him! He was determined to be awake for most of it
I’ve known his mom since her oldest, and my trio were mere babes themselves- we were in an ECFE class together when they were only 6months old! My how time has flown- and I’m so thankful that so many of us from that class have remained friends

My *K* was only 6days old and such the perfect little photo client! Isn’t he just GORGOUS?! All that beautiful hair and the loveliest eyes! Such a sweetpea! His momma is a super planner- she had this photo session scheduled months ago so all I had to do was wait for the call that he was here, and ready to be photographed!

Okay- I’ll admit it…..ever since doing J’s maternity session I’ve been excitedly waiting for this session. There’s just something about multiples- and especially newborn multiples that makes me a little giddy. I just love them! I love photographing newborns in general, but to do twins is just down right awesome!
Meet “The Boys” who are all of 8days old. They were amazing little troopers- and basically slept like logs the entire time I was there!
I’d like to pretend that it’s because I’m the Baby Whisperer and really rock- but I know it’s because their mom and dad brilliantly had me come while they were still so little. Photographing newborns in those first 10days really makes all the sleepy poses so much easier!
So without further ado- The Boys

These hats….ahhhh they bring back memories. They actually belonged to my two boys and I have such memories of them wearing them in the NICU, and then at home. Seeing two little boys in them again made my heart happy
I’m glad I found them recently!

Okay….I know…seriously…how insanely cute are they
They really loved being all snuggled together.

It seems lately the newborns I’ve photographed have been of good size- it’s been awhile since I’ve had a little one! Isn’t she just the cutest thing! A few weeks old but very accommodating of my “arranging” her for photographs. I’ve been WAITING for awhile to have a teeny baby girl to try the shot in the pettiskirt so was very excited to be able to do it!

Little Pumpkin!

They won’t stay curled up like this for long….but I do love it when they do.

Of course baby feet….my blog followers know I have a soft spot for baby feet

I will admit to having a weakness for this pose….I just love it, and it’s HARD to do with wobbly newborns so when it works my heart does a little happy dance

Four weeks old and cute as a button! He was very interested in his surroundings however, and not so interested in falling asleep. That’s the tricky part with newborns- they go from sleeping like rocks 24/7 to unpredictable awake times within only a few short weeks! Clients often ask when scheduling sessions why I plan on 2-3hrs…it seems like a long time, but most of that time is spent waiting for baby to settle in, eat, get changed, etc. I joke it’s 2hrs of waiting and 30min of shooting
You just never know what the baby will be like that day- which is why I’m never in hurry- we’ll take all the time we need!
The great part about Baby H’s mix of asleep vs awake is that we were able to get some great photos of him in both states!
I just love his little half sneer in this one

Sooo snuggly and beautiful!

Happy dreams…

His lips just kill me- sooo stinking cute!

I love his Buddha-like pose in this….(his choice, hee hee)

I think mom and dad will find him sleeping like this for many years to come…

This insanely adorable newborn belongs to my “roomie” Alicia (former college roommate)- the great thing about photographing your friend’s kids besides getting to spend time and catch up with them- you’re free to spend forever photographing them, and can pull out whatever you want to try. (like some new baskets I was itching to try out) Zackary is a great example of why it’s best to photograph newborns in the 1st 2wks of life- they are still sleepy and curled up and so much easier to pose.
Is he not just the cutest little thing!!!

I don’t what’s cuter….him or his fluffy hair!! Most newborns I’ve photographed are bald as can be- but not sweet Baby *D*- he has the CUTEST fluffy little hair on his new little head
I also just LOVE his beautiful pouty lips! He was SUCH a good little trooper- when I arrived he was out like a sack-o-potatoes and let me do whatever I needed to! We barely heard a peep out of him the first hour! Baby *D* also holds the honor of being the first baby to releave himself on me- which by the way my kids found extremely humorous. One of their favorite questions to ask when I get home from a newborn session is to ask what blankets/etc the baby peed on - when they heard it was ME- they laughed and laughed. I’ve had many a parent get the treatment, so I suppose it’s only fair it happen to me as well :)

I love photographing newborns….there’s just something about that pure, sweet, “newness”- there’s nothing else like it! This little guy was a trooper!! Sweet baby *A* did SO well- he was awake for a long time, and finally dozed of for just a few minutes- long enough for me to get some sweet sleeping shots

His VERY attentive big brother- he did a GREAT job !

Big brother *J*- was a HOOT! SOooo much fun to photograph- he’s 3 and really loved having his picture taken- he was a blast!
