Elf on the Shelf

He’s only been in our house for two days, but it’s been a HOOT so far!! Now he’s not the “official” little guy- I headed to The General Store in Minnetonka (which if you’ve never been to and live in the Twin Cities you really should check it out- esp during the holiday- it’s awesome) intending to buy the offical little guy- but instead found this one- who’s really an ornament, but he was only $7 (compared to the real elf w/book for $30) He’s about 10″ tall and totally poseable- PERFECT! Plus I think he’s much cuter than the other one.

For those not familiar with the story- basically Santa send a scout elf, to hang out in the house and keep on eye on the kids to see if they are being “naughty or nice” and then every night- once they are asleep he returns to the North Pole to give Santa a report. Then the next morning he’s back- BUT in a totally different spot. So it’s a fun little hide-n-seek game. We told the kids that one of the rules from Santa is that they can’t touch the elf :)

It’s been a hoot so far- they randomly  talk to him- tell him things and even fess up to things to him. They also think he’s really cute and want to know what he eats, what his name is, etc…. only grown ups can hear him, so Mark and I can report what he’s saying :) So if you have any good elf names- let me know!

Why I love my husband….today

I love music- and in particular am a fan of Cities 97 and have over the years always purchased their annual Sampler CD that benefits local charities. Now- people in the Twin Cities know- that these CDs literally sell out within 20 minutes. So- to be able to purchase one you have to either buy them on EBay for gads of money- OR stand in line early early in the morning outside, in the cold, waiting for Target to open so you can buy one in person.

My lovely husband does this for me. EVERY. YEAR. Stands in line at 6am for a few hours- so I can keep adding to my collection (yes- I actually have ALL 20!!)

I love you hon!

Oh- and my other happy moment- was I put the CD in the truck on the way to bring the kids to school and ALL 3 started signing along with the 1st song. I love our kids :)

MWAH!

Baby Crack (aka my brother is evil)

I must preface this, with the fact that a few years ago my kids were first introduced to it, we gave this “treat” the nickname of “Baby Crack” Because, well, the pure sugar content makes them act like lunatics.

SO- when a few days ago- a large package arrived for my kids from their Uncle Mark and Auntie Sara. I thought “hmmmm what could this be?”

Imagine my surprise to open it- and find THIS:

Yes- that’s right- over 3 POUNDS of baby crack! In giant tubes none the less! 50 of them!

I of course- laughed. And laughed and laughed….only someone WITHOUT kids would think this is a good idea. Of course- being a giant kid himself- my brother knew they’d love it- and he’s right- as my kids literally SCREAMED with joy when I dumped the contents onto the lawn.

So…I wondered, “Just how much is IN each tube?” I did not expect it’d be THIS much!

IMG_4805.jpg

It literally wouldn’t even all fit in her hands…spilling onto the ground.
So now that it’s out…I guess I had to let them eat it!

It’s even irresistible to the dog….

So THANKS brother dear….what I’m going to do with this much crack I don’t know…but you’ve made the kids’ week that’s for sure.

I love you anyway :)

Little Man Blue Eyes

Little Man *F* has the MOST amazing blue eyes!! 6months old and just as cute as a button :) We were suppose to have the session the evening before, but were rained out…well it ended up being a blessing as the weather the next morning was BEAUTIFUL and this little guy was easy-peasy to photograph as he was happy as a little clam :)

The *G* Family

When I arrived to their home and saw Miss “T* outside drawing with chalk, I have to admit my heart did a little gasp. CURLS!!! Look at those gorgeous CURLS!

Little Miss *Y*- is every bit your typical 1.5yr old toddler- spunky, active and sooo much fun!

And last but not least- sweet baby *E*.

The children together. Their mom gets FULL credit for me being able to pull this off. She was standing behind me putting on quite the comedy show for them. :)

The *I* Family

Okay….Miss *A* loves the camera. I mean, LOVES the camera. She enjoyed getting her photo taken more than any other child I met this week. She made my job as a photographer very very easy. She was a HOOT and gorgeous to boot.

Her little sister, *A2* did not enjoy having her photo taken. :) BUT what 1.5yr old does! She made me really work for it- but ahhhh when she smiled it was GOLD!

The whole beautiful family:
