Her bottom two teeth have been wiggly for like, um, 3 months now? I was starting to think they were never going to fall out! But today- her first tooth decided to make a break for it! She’s soooo excited “I have a window in my mouth!!”

Her new big toothless grin.

This one makes me laugh- cause she looks like an annoyed teenager….

With her tooth fairy pillow that she’s just been ITCHING to use

I don’t what’s cuter….him or his fluffy hair!! Most newborns I’ve photographed are bald as can be- but not sweet Baby *D*- he has the CUTEST fluffy little hair on his new little head
I also just LOVE his beautiful pouty lips! He was SUCH a good little trooper- when I arrived he was out like a sack-o-potatoes and let me do whatever I needed to! We barely heard a peep out of him the first hour! Baby *D* also holds the honor of being the first baby to releave himself on me- which by the way my kids found extremely humorous. One of their favorite questions to ask when I get home from a newborn session is to ask what blankets/etc the baby peed on - when they heard it was ME- they laughed and laughed. I’ve had many a parent get the treatment, so I suppose it’s only fair it happen to me as well :)

Having previously spent many years working in South Minneapolis, it has a particular fondness for me….and in my current vocation, I love it for another reason- GORGEOUS lighting and scenery! Of course- today, that is in part to the lovely home and awesome landscaping of the N family. Not to mention their beautiful little girl. Meet their precocious 2yr old- who I had SO much fun with!! When during a photo session you can go from poking at spiderwebs outside, to a tea party inside- it’s a great day

Little Man *F* has the MOST amazing blue eyes!! 6months old and just as cute as a button
We were suppose to have the session the evening before, but were rained out…well it ended up being a blessing as the weather the next morning was BEAUTIFUL and this little guy was easy-peasy to photograph as he was happy as a little clam

I love photographing newborns….there’s just something about that pure, sweet, “newness”- there’s nothing else like it! This little guy was a trooper!! Sweet baby *A* did SO well- he was awake for a long time, and finally dozed of for just a few minutes- long enough for me to get some sweet sleeping shots

His VERY attentive big brother- he did a GREAT job !

Big brother *J*- was a HOOT! SOooo much fun to photograph- he’s 3 and really loved having his picture taken- he was a blast!

This week, I left Minneapolis and headed to Chicago. I spent a few days staying with my friend Sara. I came to visit her, but also to photograph her cutie-patootie-son, who wasn’t around last summer because of camp, when I was there and photographed her trio. Since I was coming to do some photography anyway, she arranged some mini-sessions with some of her friends and neighbors. It was a great time! I met so many lovely families and some insanely CUTE kids. They were real troopers braving the heat and humidity! Their sneak peeks are below!
So- first off- a sneak peek for Sara. I love these kids and they make me laugh because I think I’ve finally met some kids that talk more than my own!
The main man- D. His laugh is one of the best sounds I have ever heard. EVER. I want to record it to play over and over again when I’m in a grumpy mood

And his brother *E*:

And the other brother *J*

And the princess, *S*, who was in LOVE with the tutu I brought along

All together now!

When I arrived to their home and saw Miss “T* outside drawing with chalk, I have to admit my heart did a little gasp. CURLS!!! Look at those gorgeous CURLS!

Little Miss *Y*- is every bit your typical 1.5yr old toddler- spunky, active and sooo much fun!

And last but not least- sweet baby *E*.

The children together. Their mom gets FULL credit for me being able to pull this off. She was standing behind me putting on quite the comedy show for them.

Oooooo how I love freckles!!! Meet *Z*

And his adorable little brother *S*

And their gorgeous little sister *E* who’s hair I’m a little in love with.

Our attempt at a group shot- Little Miss *E* wanted NO part of it. Gee…I wonder why. Ahhhhh brotherly love.

Okay….Miss *A* loves the camera. I mean, LOVES the camera. She enjoyed getting her photo taken more than any other child I met this week. She made my job as a photographer very very easy. She was a HOOT and gorgeous to boot.

Her little sister, *A2* did not enjoy having her photo taken.
BUT what 1.5yr old does! She made me really work for it- but ahhhh when she smiled it was GOLD!

The whole beautiful family:

Life with boys…it’s always interesting! This lucky family has 3 very spunky and adorable guys! Brothers in action always make me laugh- the way they can make each other laugh, or cry, in an instant. Photographing boys is SO different than photographing girls- the humor in boys just just it’s own creature. As a mom of two boys, I know this firsthand as well. The key to making boys laugh- is letting THEM be funny, because nothing is funnier to them that their own jokes.

Three beautiful girls, and one gorgeous boy….and one very very hot day. The girls were super troopers and easy-peasy to capture their beautiful selves. Little Mr. *J*- well, he’s 2, and when you’re 2, and it’s 95* outside- getting photographed is not high on your priority list. Thankfully- we did get a few cute ones before he melted in the heat
First up- the oldest of all the kids I met this week, Miss *C*

Miss *H*- doesn’t she have the BEST smile!! Her whole face lights up

and Sweet Miss *S* showing off her new toothless smile :)

And little guy *J* about 5secs before meltdown

These kids were soooooo good I couldn’t believe it- talk about mellow, laid back, and easy-peasy! Not to mention gorgeous and photogenic

I was greeted by this little face when I arrived…HOW stinking cute is she!!!

Miss *T* was a hoot- totally doing her own posing and had lots of ideas and LOVED every minute of it!

Miss *M* - just pure sweetness

And big brother *G* who afterward was showing me his skills on his board thing (a skateboard with only 2 wheels?) and I think would be a fabulous snow-boarder!

Okay…. I’ll admit it. I love toddlers. I just LOVE them!
Not because they are easy to photograph- actually as any parent knows, it’s the opposite- as they are the hardest of all the ages to capture for photos, as they are just too busy exploring to be bothered with photography!
Photographying toddlers is like being a paparazzi- you chase them around shooting like crazy and hope you’ll get some great shots. But for me, there’s just something about a 1-2yr old that just makes me giggle. Their joy and curiousity about the world is just contagious!
Now if only they were easier to photograph….but then they just wouldn’t be toddlers would they
Okay- onto the sneak peek. The *E* family is lucky enough to have TWO toddlers to fill their lives with craziness! Meet *Z* and *J*- we met up on my old stomping grounds- the U of MN Twin Cities campus. It was so much fun and SUCH a great place for photos!
First up- *Z*- he was a little wary of me at first- but once he ran up and hugged me I knew I was good to go! I love this- it’s SO “I’m almost 2!”

And his older brother *J*- doesn’t he have the BEST smile!

The dynamic duo- checking out the copper water fountain:

I love this photo because the boys have that “What the HECK is she doing??” look- because I was standing IN the water fountain

The whole gorgeous family. I think this is probably the only 2sec of the entire shoot the boys weren’t running

She’s almost 6 now you know……and somedays is just pure sass.
Her hair is such a rat’s nest these days- from all the sunscreen and bike helmets and swimming…
BTW- the new song choice- it’s hers. She was listening to my iPod the other day and really really loved the song and kept replaying it. So I put it on here in her honor. If you haven’t seen the movie (JUNO)- you really should…it’s SO good
