I LOVE getting that phone call or email from my maternity clients telling me that their little one is finally here! I always look forward to seeing my clients again, and this time fully in love with their new little bundle of joy. It’s such an amazing journey to be able to photograph- the couple in love awaiting their first child, and then weeks later photographing their new family. Sigh..it’s what life’s all about! HERE was their session a few weeks ago!
I often tell newborn clients to pull aside a few knit items (blankets, hats, etc) to use during the session as they really add a lovely texture to photographs. I always bring things along as well, but prefer to use something more personal. When B’s mom pulled out this hat, I’m pretty sure I did a little squeal- I mean SERIOUSLY HOW ADORABLE IS THIS!!!! Gotta love Etsy!
This might be my favorite from the day!

Sooo cute!

I think B is going to be tall- he has the biggest, sweetest hands and he likes to hold them

I think he looks like his momma here

A sweet one in b+w

A star is born!
I’ve been itching to use this basket- I was milling around Pier One a few weeks ago and came across it. My fellow photogs will understand how some people look at baskets for home use, I look at baskets and think “oooo I wonder if I can fit a baby in that….” which is exactly what I said to the clerk when she asked if I needed help. She looked at me like I was cuckoo which only made me laugh

Thanks C & J for allowing me to photograph this amazing time in your lives!!

What a gorgeous night for a family session! I’m heading into my prime “family session” time of year- and I love being able to photograph families and especially have a weakness for families with dogs. Sweet Miss Lucy was a GREAT puppy and I’m sure we’ll be an amazing family dog for them!
The whole family

The gorgeous sister

and her spunky brother

Just the girls

Father & Son

Puppy Love

My personal favorite….there’s just something about girls and their daddies

One more

Thanks for a fun session!

What an amazing family! So full of love and kindness – I came home and told my hubby that I can only hope our kids have such a great relationship when they are older

And their newest “sibling”- isn’t he adorable??

They love golf- they even have a putting green in their backyard! (so fun!)

G&G wanted their bunnies to be included in some photos (watching them with their bunnies was honestly the sweetest thing ever….)
Here the bunnies are “kissing”

Sisterly love

Just the boys

And one more just because it makes me giggle- I asked her to give him a kiss….A your expression is priceless!

J family thank you so much for having me over to photograph your family. You really are raising some amazing kids! M & A good luck in college this year! G&G- thanks for all your energy and making my job soooo fun

After a streak of newborn girls- it was fun to switch it up and be able to photograph this little hunka love! I had a fun afternoon with him and his friendly 2.5yr old big brother. There’s just something about “brothers” that I find so sweet- perhaps it’s because I see the bond between my own two boys, I’m not sure, but it’s a relationship that I love to watch and these two are sure lucky to have each other.
His mom disccovered an addiction of mine- Etsy! For those who’ve yet to visit, it’s an amazing place to purchase hand made items- and the BEST place to find adorable knit hats for your baby! I have to limit myself from going there too often as there are so many great things there! It’s my go-to place when I need a special gift for that hard to shop for person. Anyhoo- C’s mom had picked up a few adorable hats from Etsy to use for our session- YAY! I love knits on newborns!

He has the sweetest lips and I think will surely have some long lashes

This is a shot I get asked to do pretty often, and it’s a great way to show scale and just how small they are in the beginning. In his dad’s hands.

With his adoring big brother- who I could have spent a whole day with just talking and playing- such a fun little guy!

I’m a sucker for lashes!

Thanks for having me over to photograph this precious and fleeting time in your lives!

This teeny tiny little sweet pea was just a dream to photograph! Sleepy and snuggly she barely let out a peep. I wish all newborns could be this easy
I love when I can capture a dreaming smile

I’ve been wanting to use this basket for awhile now but needed a baby girl small enough

That lip!! I love it so much- I can just see her getting her way by flashing that pouty lip to her daddy

I love photographing newborns outdoors and when I walked up their front walk and saw these roses I gasped a little- and knew I’d be bringing little miss outdoors for a little session in the roses.

This makes me think of a newborn Little Red Riding Hood

“power to the little people!”

With her adoring mom and dad

Thanks A family for having me over to capture this precious time in your lives- I can’t wait to watch her grow over the next year
