I know….it doesn’t get much cuter than this does it
These two sisters were so sweet! Newborn twins….it’s challenging enough to position, keep happy, and photograph ONE newborn, but multiples- really provide a super fun challenge that I was so excited to do it once again. Now either of these sweet baby girls as a singleton would have been a piece of cake! They really are super sweet babies- but for whatever reason this day were on different schedules of when they decided to be awake/asleep/and happy. We did get a few windows of togetherness….and that made it all so worthwhile
Mom was very patient with the process, and given that most of my singleton newborn sessions typically take 2-3hrs…. 3.5hrs for twins isn’t too shabby!
I think this one if my fave…

V+E

Miss *E* and her amazing eyes….she spent almost an hour totally alert like this and just STARED at me- it was amazing! Her focus at this age is astounding- it’ll be interesting as she gets older if she continues to not want to miss any of the action.

Miss V was much sleepier….I just LOVE her little smile…

I love how their hands are making sort of a heart shape- how sweet is that?

Snuggled face to face

Thanks W family for having me come to photograph this amazing and fleeting time in your girls lives….you really are blessed- 5 beautiful girls- what a fun bunch they all are!

Typically when a newborn is 2-3wks old they are awake and wiggly….or awake and only happy when held. This sweet little punkin was the calmest, most relaxed baby I’ve ever met! Such a sweetheart- if he fussed it was literally for all of 2seconds as he would melt in anyone’s arms and instantly fall back asleep. He’s definitely a very happy and content baby!
At the end of the session myself, his mom, his dad and even his grandma were trying to get him to wake up so we could get some shots of his gorgeous eyes, but he would have nothing to do with it! It was hysterical. Finally he did open his eyes for a few seconds
Up first- the one I know mom was excited to see:

It’s no secret that I love textiles in newborn photography….but ESPECIALLY when they belong to the family and have some personal meaning. When mom showed me this scarf she had set aside for the session I was instantly in love….I want one for myself now!

I just love sleeping babies like this…..it always makes me smile. This one is for my friend Nancy who wanted to know what I wanted this blanket for

I just love his little mouth here….

This was during the time when mom was trying to wake him up…it makes me smile as I just find it so incredibly sweet.

D & N it was so lovely to meet you and sweet baby M- he really is just the sweetest thing! I rarely get baby fever anymore, but oh he sure did get me thinking about it again!

This sweet little peanut is baby boy #2 for my awesome friend Kim and was born on Valentines Day! I had the pleasure of photographing her 1st born only 2yrs ago- and it’s amazing how much the two boys look alike! Riley looks SO much like his big brother! He was only 5days old for the session and was a great little trooper for being so new in the world!

I love the little swirl of hair on the top of his head.

He preferred to have his hands up by his face- perhaps it’s how he spent his time inside

Once he fell asleep we had him model lots of hats for me- it was a hoot! There’s just something about fuzzy hats in the winter time that make me smile.

Thanks Kim and Bob- congrats again- he’s really just an adorable little guy!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of heading up to Lake Superior with some fellow moms for some lovely R&R. The weather was great and the scenery just spectacular! I love nature photography but often forget to make the time to get out and do some……so it was a very soul satisfying weekend for me in that regards. Photos from Gooseberry Falls and Lake Superior just north of Two Harbors.

H & M and Big Brother J are awaiting the arrival of a new baby boy! Photographing maternity sessions always makes me nostalgic…it’s such an amazing time, and never do you feel more womanly
When H showed me this shirt she designed herself at CustomizedGirl.com – I LOVED it!!! I love funky clothes in general for sessions, but especially for maternity sessions they just add a great element

I think this is my favorite from the session….

Tummy bumping

Mr. J will be a great big brother.

Some family snuggling at the end of the day

M, H & J it was great to meet you- good luck with your delivery and I’m excited to meet and photograph baby C in a few short weeks!
