“Bud”
This cheeky monkey has appeared a few times on my blog- here, here, and here as he belongs to my lovely friend Lynda. He’s at a favorite age of mine- 18months! I just love this age!

Okay seriously- how ADORABLE are these two?? They started off a little apprehensive about the whole photoshoot idea, but warmed up pretty quickly and really had fun with it!
Showing some team spirit! T’s crooked glasses just CRACK ME UP!
Miss W and her brilliant smile
I. Want. To. Squeeze. Him.
What makes a 2 and 3 yr old smile like this? A jellyfish on my head of course.
And N- these are for you
Anyone who’s ever met my kids- knows they can talk. I mean…TALK. They are insane chatterboxes. It’s rare that I run into a family with kids as chatty as mine. Up till now the only kids I’ve met that could outchat mine- are my friend Sara’s (kids seen here) These 3 sisters were such a hoot! Endless chitchat and verbal energy that had me laughing, just because I felt so at home. Besides being able to tell me lots and lots of stories- they were also just completely sweet and fun to be around.
Four weeks old and cute as a button! He was very interested in his surroundings however, and not so interested in falling asleep. That’s the tricky part with newborns- they go from sleeping like rocks 24/7 to unpredictable awake times within only a few short weeks! Clients often ask when scheduling sessions why I plan on 2-3hrs…it seems like a long time, but most of that time is spent waiting for baby to settle in, eat, get changed, etc. I joke it’s 2hrs of waiting and 30min of shooting
You just never know what the baby will be like that day- which is why I’m never in hurry- we’ll take all the time we need!
The great part about Baby H’s mix of asleep vs awake is that we were able to get some great photos of him in both states!
I just love his little half sneer in this one
Sooo snuggly and beautiful!
Happy dreams…
His lips just kill me- sooo stinking cute!
I love his Buddha-like pose in this….(his choice, hee hee)
I think mom and dad will find him sleeping like this for many years to come…
This sweet big sister was SO much fun- talk about chatty! She’d fit in well in my home with my chatterboxes. She was ready to go as soon as I arrived! So while mom and dad got her twin sisters ready- we headed outside and tried to avoid the rain/drizzle.
This twosome are really a miracle. Born over 3months early, due too much sharing (shared the same sac) they are now 6months old and doing great!
The terrific twosome together….
And……we’re done
This brother and sister duo were hysterical- talk about personality! I had so much fun capturing their antics
The Dynamic Duo

When I uploaded my files to my computer and saw this one- I instantly laughed- it’s SO the perfect photograph to explain today.

The big brother:

Miss Spunkalicious in her favorite outfit:

If I’ve ever done a photoshoot for you, and you have little ones- you know 1st hand that I have a little bag of tricks I bring along…and usually one or two of them will end up in a photo. This one makes me smile, because Mr. C is the FIRST child to successful guess correctly during my “What animal am I hiding?” game. (I give hints- and they have to guess who’s about to pop out of my bag…”He’s gray..likes to swim in the ocean, has flippers and a tail and says “Arrrrk-Arrrrk”) For some reason my seal has stumped every kid up till now
He was very proud to be the 1st to guess it!

Okay- I admit it…I have a weakness for 2 things when I photograph small children. Feet…and eyelashes
I normally like eyelash shots in b+w but for some reason I’m digging this one in color too….

This insanely adorable newborn belongs to my “roomie” Alicia (former college roommate)- the great thing about photographing your friend’s kids besides getting to spend time and catch up with them- you’re free to spend forever photographing them, and can pull out whatever you want to try. (like some new baskets I was itching to try out) Zackary is a great example of why it’s best to photograph newborns in the 1st 2wks of life- they are still sleepy and curled up and so much easier to pose.
Is he not just the cutest little thing!!!

I love photographing newborns….there’s just something about that pure, sweet, “newness”- there’s nothing else like it! This little guy was a trooper!! Sweet baby *A* did SO well- he was awake for a long time, and finally dozed of for just a few minutes- long enough for me to get some sweet sleeping shots

His VERY attentive big brother- he did a GREAT job !

Big brother *J*- was a HOOT! SOooo much fun to photograph- he’s 3 and really loved having his picture taken- he was a blast!

Okay…. I’ll admit it. I love toddlers. I just LOVE them!
Not because they are easy to photograph- actually as any parent knows, it’s the opposite- as they are the hardest of all the ages to capture for photos, as they are just too busy exploring to be bothered with photography!
Photographying toddlers is like being a paparazzi- you chase them around shooting like crazy and hope you’ll get some great shots. But for me, there’s just something about a 1-2yr old that just makes me giggle. Their joy and curiousity about the world is just contagious!
Now if only they were easier to photograph….but then they just wouldn’t be toddlers would they
Okay- onto the sneak peek. The *E* family is lucky enough to have TWO toddlers to fill their lives with craziness! Meet *Z* and *J*- we met up on my old stomping grounds- the U of MN Twin Cities campus. It was so much fun and SUCH a great place for photos!
First up- *Z*- he was a little wary of me at first- but once he ran up and hugged me I knew I was good to go! I love this- it’s SO “I’m almost 2!”

And his older brother *J*- doesn’t he have the BEST smile!

The dynamic duo- checking out the copper water fountain:

I love this photo because the boys have that “What the HECK is she doing??” look- because I was standing IN the water fountain

The whole gorgeous family. I think this is probably the only 2sec of the entire shoot the boys weren’t running
