3rd Time’s The Charm!

This family showed dilligence and patience as our 2 prior session attempts were rained out! We finally had success at our 3rd try- and well worth the wait as the weather was PERFECT- you can’t ask for a better evening than we had for the session.

Are these kids not just gorgeous?? And I thought I had blondies!

This pose was the big brother’s idea…and the little sister was adamant they NOT squish her!! Her siblings did a great job of giving her space:D

Little Miss *L* really made me work for it- but when she finally smiled for me…ahhhhh

I am completely in love with his hair!!! It’s just perfection! And of course he’s a beaut as well and so much fun. 8yr old boys can be tough- but *B* made my job easy-peasy!

And of course Miss *S* who is so much wiser than her mere 6yrs, but at the sheer name of her “boyfriend” broke into the cutest little sheepish grin….

The whole gorgeous family

gary schaaefer - Thursday, October 2, 2008 - 6:44 pm

Great photos…………..Job well done……beautifull family proto….bye the bye they are my grand kids

Baby Crack (aka my brother is evil)

I must preface this, with the fact that a few years ago my kids were first introduced to it, we gave this “treat” the nickname of “Baby Crack” Because, well, the pure sugar content makes them act like lunatics.

SO- when a few days ago- a large package arrived for my kids from their Uncle Mark and Auntie Sara. I thought “hmmmm what could this be?”

Imagine my surprise to open it- and find THIS:

Yes- that’s right- over 3 POUNDS of baby crack! In giant tubes none the less! 50 of them!

I of course- laughed. And laughed and laughed….only someone WITHOUT kids would think this is a good idea. Of course- being a giant kid himself- my brother knew they’d love it- and he’s right- as my kids literally SCREAMED with joy when I dumped the contents onto the lawn.

So…I wondered, “Just how much is IN each tube?” I did not expect it’d be THIS much!

It literally wouldn’t even all fit in her hands…spilling onto the ground.
So now that it’s out…I guess I had to let them eat it!

It’s even irresistible to the dog….

“This is your dog on crack”

So THANKS brother dear….what I’m going to do with this much crack I don’t know…but you’ve made the kids’ week that’s for sure.

I love you anyway:)

Laura Veraska - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 7:00 am

omg…totally made my morning!! perfect!!
these must be a storyboard made of these!

Jeanette - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 7:12 am

OMW, I can just imagine the mess :)

Allison - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 7:39 am

I was smiling as I read it and followed along through the pix but that last one of the dog made me laugh out loud! OMG!!! Love it…

Chastity - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 7:41 am

Holy Pixie Sticks Batman! I hope there is some way that you can return the favor? Great Pics as always..

Uncle Mark - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 9:11 am

I’m glad they liked it!

Are there any pictures of them after they ate it, or were they just blurs of motion? :-D

Oh, Auntie Sara wants everyone to know that she had nothing to do with it…
My evil tendencies come out sometimes. ;-)

Tiona - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 1:04 pm

I really enjoyed these images! The last shot had me rolling!!

Keri - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 2:02 pm

Oh I love this! What a great story board! “Baby Crack” is a huge hit around here as well ~ even my DH eats the stuff. LOL

Steph - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 4:00 pm

but did anyone else notice that amy put the kids in all blue shirts and had them open the blue tube? very crafty.
kids get what they want – and mom gets some awesome pictures.

this, my friend, is an excellent use of bribery :)

Holli - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 5:23 pm

Oh my goodness!!! This is a riot! I love the dog eating it too.

Amy Siggelkow Duffing - Saturday, September 20, 2008 - 2:23 am

Steph you know what’s funny- that’s TOTALLY unintentional! :) lol
The blue shirts are school uniform and I honestly just grabbed a tube out of the box and didn’t even think about what color it was…

But- had I been thinking I would have picked orange. Better contrast :)

Steph - Saturday, September 20, 2008 - 10:43 am

Well, there’s still time. How many more tubes of crack? BTW – you’re much nicer than I am. I would have “dropped” the box into the trash before BAT ever saw it! Of course, mine are the same kids who would NOT let me take them to Dunkin Donuts before school yesterday “because the principal said we can’t have any sugar at school!”

Julie - Saturday, September 20, 2008 - 2:27 pm

LOL, love the dog getting in on it. Holy cow that is a lot of baby crack, YUCK, not sure i could eat it!!!

Rach - Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 7:34 pm

LOL. . . love the shots, especially the last shot of F – too funny! :-D Yep, ya gotta love the “sugar” arrivals, huh?!

Kami Voiles - Monday, September 29, 2008 - 12:36 am

LOL That is sooo funny! Your dog even loved it! I used to LOVE pixy stix…straight sugar though for sure..I’m sure your kids were wiild crazy after this! So cute though! Love all the pictures – especially with them all sharing the huge pile in your girls hands. hehe

aboutimage - Monday, October 6, 2008 - 7:53 am

So much fun! GREAT photos!

Waiting for babies…

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a maternity photo session….I’m always in awe of the beauty of pregnancy. I myself, LOVED being pregnant- I’ve often said that the one downside to having triplets is that I only got to be pregnant once instead of 3 times. So now I just have to live vicariously through my friends and clients.

This adorable couple is extra lucky as they are expecting TWINS – genders to be discovered on their birthday:)I can’t wait to meet the duo in October/November!

Mr. & Mrs. Personality

This brother and sister duo were hysterical- talk about personality! I had so much fun capturing their antics:)

The Dynamic Duo

When I uploaded my files to my computer and saw this one- I instantly laughed- it’s SO the perfect photograph to explain today.:)

The big brother:

Miss Spunkalicious in her favorite outfit:

If I’ve ever done a photoshoot for you, and you have little ones- you know 1st hand that I have a little bag of tricks I bring along…and usually one or two of them will end up in a photo. This one makes me smile, because Mr. C is the FIRST child to successful guess correctly during my “What animal am I hiding?” game. (I give hints- and they have to guess who’s about to pop out of my bag…”He’s gray..likes to swim in the ocean, has flippers and a tail and says “Arrrrk-Arrrrk”) For some reason my seal has stumped every kid up till now:)He was very proud to be the 1st to guess it!

Okay- I admit it…I have a weakness for 2 things when I photograph small children. Feet…and eyelashes:)I normally like eyelash shots in b+w but for some reason I’m digging this one in color too….

Cheryl Johnson - Monday, September 8, 2008 - 2:49 am

you can see their personality jump out of these images – fab work

diana simpson - Monday, September 8, 2008 - 11:21 am

Jen Lane - Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 12:03 am

oh my goodness, personality is right! SO cute. I seriously just love #2!!!! Cute, cute photos!

3 Peas Start Kindergarten!

Okay- I’ll admit it- I cried like a baby when they drove off in that bus…..I was a rock until they hugged me goodbye…then I lost it. MY BABIES!!! How can this be? They were SO excited and so proud…how could I not cry!:)

So- some pics from their first official day as Kindergartners:)

Running to the bus- at this point there was no looking back for them- they were so excited!

(And NO we weren’t late- the bus was early!)

Despite my orders to “turn around so I can take a picture!” they were just too excited and clamored right on up! Their driver is very nice- and they, and their friend B, are the only kids on the bus to school! When the bus drove away they were smiling huge and waving from the window….it was too much for me. SOB!

jO - Wednesday, September 3, 2008 - 5:49 pm

“Practice Day” and The Girl’s New Ears

Today the kids visited their school for a “practice day” as my kids called it.  They were just there for an hour, and parents stayed. Then afterwards, we went to the mall to get some shirts for school and made a stop at Claire’s!

After we got home- Boy #2 said to her “Now you look like a woman!” I about peed my pants:)

Steph - Wednesday, September 3, 2008 - 6:43 pm

First of all, the blurred out faces on the non-Amy kids FREAK me out – they look like aliens :)

Second – I love The Girl’s little tongue sticking out btw those teeth – priceless!

DSR - Wednesday, September 3, 2008 - 6:59 pm

The first day of school is so bittersweet. The kids look so excited and happy!

diana simpson - Wednesday, September 3, 2008 - 9:51 pm

Gorgeous pictures! Gorgeous kids!

Betty Gray - Friday, September 5, 2008 - 12:17 am

They look soooo cute! I know you had such a hard time. Hang in there. You’ve only got 13 more years to go before they’re “considered” grown. lololol

Loved the way you blurred the classmates faces. That was so funny! :-)

Julie - Saturday, September 6, 2008 - 11:22 pm

Aww, what a special day/time. I share the same emotions as my first “baby” went off to k this year also! Might I say how grown up they look. I mean maybe the new hair cuts, but so cute and so school kid like! love the new ears! P.S also missing MN this time of year!

Loring Park on a GORGEOUS Day!

I’ve never been to Loring Park in Minneapolis before, so when D’s mom chose it for our location- I was excited to scope it out. What a GREAT park!! We had the perfect weather too! I had a great evening with D- chasing him all over the park. Such a sweet boy- with an easy-going nature. I love that his mom brought along his soccer ball and his Jedi Lightsaber! It’s so fun to include things they love- esp boys at this age who can be tough to photograph:)

Jeni - Monday, September 1, 2008 - 12:06 am
